This dishwasher is not for everyone...

by Anna Klein from on 2010-09-01
It's really hard to rate this item as we have not been able to use it as of today... It has been two weeks or so since we received this dish washer and we were so excited to use it and my husband set it up right away but unfortunately our aerator was exactly the same size as the attachment that is supposed to be connected to the faucet and we have not been able to find a solution since... Thus it's just taken up a huge space on our kitchen counter... We have contacted the customer service and had to leave a message with them, some one from the customer service was supposed to contact us within the 48 business hours and it's been a week that we are waiting for them to call us... I wish the dish washer came with a few different attachment sizes to support different aerator sizes... The book says it should fit normal size faucet but we have a normal size faucet!! and it does not fit! We are frustrated that we don't have the option of sending it back as we got rid of the original box and the customer service is not helpful... That's probably why they have a messaging system so that they don't have to talk directly to the unhappy customers and keep ignoring them:-( We are deeply regretting this purchase we made and we suggest you do your dishes by hand instead of spending $200 for a useless box that takes up your kitchen counter.

WACKY

by Media Enterprises, Inc. from New Mexico on 2010-08-28
Started acting wacky after about a year. A buzzer sounds and a light flashes and the washing stops. The manual doesn't actually address this issue. If I keep turning it on and off, it eventually does some washing. When it's working the wash cycles are much too long. Way too annoying and labor-intensive for what it is.

I expected more

by klepachd from on 2010-07-29
This thing was too noisy. It took it longer than specified to do a wash cycle, and if the dishes/containers were from plastic, they came out wet.

Great for Singles/Couples - Answering some questions I had

by Joey85 from on 2010-07-28
I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived today. I decided on this model specifically because I could get a great deal on shipping via Amazon prime. But I wanted to answer a couple of questions that I had before buying the item that I didn't really see answered anywhere else. Hopefully this helps some people. -This unit is great for singles or possibly even couples. I am single but love to cook, I also work a full time job and am going to school full time, so spending 20-30 minutes (Because I let them overflow) a few times per week doing dishes by hand is just impracticable. I was a little worried about what you can actually fit in it, and I don't know what the heck a place setting is, so here is what I could fit in it in one load: One large Frying pan, One Medium Sauce Pan, A couple large drinking glasses, a "standard" dinner plate (I am guessing 10.5"?), a couple of small plastic containers, and a few cooking utensils. I was able to make these all fit by removing the cutlery basket - I figure that I have enough forks/spoons to save them for the next time. So there is a practical expectation of what you can fit. It seemed to clean all of that stuff very good on the normal setting. If I was having company over I may have to run two separate loads, one for pots & pans and one for plates, bowls, glasses, etc. - I am fairly impressed with the quality of this unit. I was a little worried that this would be more of a toy or a novelty item, but it really does work great. It works exactly the same way as a full sized dish washer does, just on a smaller scale. The faucet hookup makes it flexible and easy to install. It was very easy, it took me about 5-10 minutes until everything was up and running. -The size is bigger than I was expecting, I will admit I had assumed that I had plenty of space and didn't measure - Luckily I have about a 1/2 Inch of clearance from under my cabinets and about an inch on every other side - It was a really tight fit, you should not be stupid like me and measure before purchasing. -The unit is pretty loud, pretty comparable with a standard dish washer, I would guess that they have less room for sound dampening with the smaller size. It doesn't bother me but it is something to keep in mind for small apartments if you have sensitive neighbors. Just some other tid-bits: -Unlike some models I looked at, this unit has a drain pump instead of draining via gravity, so in theory you might be able to put this at a lower level than your sink, like under your cabinets. I haven't tried that, but the drain water does come out with substantial pressure. -It comes with the quick connect faucet connector for hooking your drain/input hoses all together. It also has a separate drain hose for permanent installation, the manual says that you will have to supply your own input hose though for permanent installation. -This unit uses a "dumping" method for the detergent. You put the detergent in an indent on the door and it dumps it when you close it. So there is no sort of "Pre Rinse" or anything. -It seems to handle pausing the cycle pretty good. Even pausing the unit in the middle of draining doesn't phase it at all. Nice for me because I frequently forget to put things in until the wash cycle is halfway done. -It does have a spot on the door for putting Rinse Agents in (Like Jet Dry, etc), which should help with drying. A nice addition! -Speaking of drying, the unit doesn't seem to have any sort of air or steam drying or anything. It just sits for 15-20 minutes after the rinse cycle and waits for the water to evaporate to dry the dishes. Works great for glasses, plates, pans, etc. Not so great for plastic, which doesn't retain heat as good, but this seems like the case with a lot of dish washers, I can deal with it. -The unit claims to use a max of 1280 watts (1200 for the heating element), and 2.5 Gallons of water per cycle. The Normal Cycle lasts 90 minutes, and the Heavy cycle lasts about 120 Minutes, Light is around 40 minutes. All in all, I am very satisfied with the unit, and the awesome deal on Amazon prime shipping. I also purchased the 3 Year Squaretrade warranty just in case. I have no worries that I will need it, but I have heard that these portable units in general are prone to leaking. Again, I am not concerned about THIS particular model, but the additional warranty was just about $20 or so and I have heard great things about Squaretrade. I would definitely recommend this to any singles/couples stuck in an apartment without a dishwasher, and sick of tired of doing them by hand. I will update this review if anything changes. ***3 Week Update*** I am STILL very pleased with the unit, it has saved me so much time. It is definitely holding up fine, and once you learn how to pack things in there you can easily fit MORE than I had posted in the original review. I am also impressed as you are able to fit full sized cookie sheets and pizza pans in it (Just put them on the very top). After using it for about a month, I would recommend as a tip that you use the Gel detergents over the powdered detergents, as I have noticed that sometimes the powdered detergent can leave residue on the dried dishes. It just seems like the gel detergent mixes better. Other than that, I still recommend this. Of course I will update it if anything else happens.

Works but could be lots better

by Lisa Scarbrough from Savannah, GA on 2010-07-14
We put this on our baby registry to have a way to sterilize the baby's bottles and feeding supplies. In the week we've had it, we've done two loads. You have to play Tetris every time you load to try and figure out how to get the most to fit. It does not dry the dishes at all, so you have to leave the door open and pull out the drawer and let everything air dry. It does fit our space, though it is quite awkward on the countertop and makes it difficult to reach above it to the higher cabinet. We're contemplating sending this back and just using a microwave sterilizer as I can wash and dry dishes in the sink much more efficiently than this thing seems to do.

Cleans well, is quiet.

by Anonymous from USA on 2010-09-02
This washing machine arrived without any exterior damage. The only problem with it is that the water intake hose leaks at one end. It's only a small leak, and I will eventually have it replaced so I'm not bothered by it. The assembly was easy, all I had to do was attach the included hoses and screw on the bottom plate. The bottom plate wouldn't align properly, but I still managed to screw it on. This washing machine cleans very well, and runs quietly. I used the standard cycle, and the clothes came out cleaner than I expected. I could barely detect any remaining detergent on the fabric, unlike with other washing machines that I've used. I was unsatisfied with the quick wash setting. I was able to fit twenty-five pairs of underwear, twelve socks, and four pairs of pajama shorts in a single load. In a separate load, I was able to fit four pairs of pants and one shirt. I had no issue with clothes tangling fiercely. I didn't attach the washer to my sink, so I can't comment on how well the sink adapter works. I hooked the washing machine up to a standard washing machine faucet. I can only wash my clothes with cold water, but that isn't an issue for me.

5 Stars for Washing, 1 Star for Portability

by Yogi Bear from San Diego, CA on 2010-08-31
I've had this washing machine for a few months now, and I think that the washing capabilities are great. It gets clothes clean rather quickly and I can fit in a decent size load. It's not too loud, and the size is good. However, I am having some serious issues with the portability aspect. It did not come with casters, so I bought some. They don't fit and keep falling out. I can't find a dolly that is the correct size, and let's just say my blood pressure significantly increases each time I have to move the machine over to the sink. I would just keep it next to the sink, but there's no room.

perfect size, quiet, but can't figure out why it leaks

by Happy to have a washer, Kathy from Freeland, WA on 2010-06-24
I am very excited to have the washing machine. First load went very well and I was surprised how many clothes it can actually hold. Second load, there was water on the floor beneath the machine. It is not apparent what causes this. The machine came in a timely manner and was packaged well against damage. I have tried to figure out why it leaks, but to no avail. There continues to be water on the floor after every load.

Don't buy this washer

by Lou C. from New York City, USA on 2010-06-22
This washer never washed clothes that well and broke down after 16 months (motor died). Repairing it would have been so expensive that I decided to chuck it. I wouldn't recommend buying this washer, but if you do, get an extended warranty.

Great little washer

by T. McCullough from Cedar Rapids, IA on 2010-06-13
I'm a single person in an apartment and was hoping to save some time and quarters with this washer. I've had it a few months now and am very pleased with it. I was skeptical as to how much this washer could hold, but it actually fits more than you'd think. I can do a week's worth of laundry in 2-3 loads. The washer is relatively quiet, doesn't move or require babysitting. You want to make sure to secure the gooseneck drain hose in the sink or else you'll have a mess on your hands. The spin cycle does a nice job so the clothes don't come out excessively wet, which is great since I hang dry everything. The washer does NOT come on wheels (that feature would have been nice) but I have placed it on a wheeled furniture dolly so I can easily roll it in and out of place. The washer did not look like the one that is pictured on the listing. I have uploaded an image of what mine looks like. The washer initially came defective. I would turn it on and I couldn't get it to do anything when I pushed the buttons. I ended up calling Haier and they had a technician come to my place within days for free. The control panel was not lined up with the insides, so when I pushed a button it didn't correspond to anything. The guy was able to fix it. He also attached the hose adapter to the sink for me. The adapter is very confusing I had a very difficult time trying to get it hooked up myself. There is a component that comes off and is permanently screwed on to my sink so I can just pop the hose right on very easily. Overall, for the price this washer is great! It's so wonderful to be able to do laundry in my own apartment!

2nd time I got "Amascammed" this year...

by Barret from on 2010-08-22
The fridge looked like a "referb", USED and cleaned. I think Amazon should re-think this item and seller...

Performs as advertised

by smeskill from on 2010-07-06
Although it is exactly the size as advertised, I was a bit surprised at how small it was. I wanted something a bit bigger. However, I am finding I prefer its small stature. It is perfect for use in my office as it fits nearly anywhere and also great for travel, which I do quite frequently. It keeps my son's milk cold enough, which is why I purchased it. I have not yet used the heating feature. Just be careful: the black box on the cord can get hot.

This thing was GREAT until it caught on FIRE!!!!!!

by S. Rau from Arlington, VA on 2010-06-27
Unbelievable. My wife and I needed something on the same floor as our baby's room. And then after about 3 months of use, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE!!! We had a dinner party and I smelled smoke! It was just about to burst into flames and I caught it. It made some kind of high-pitched buzzing noise and then lit up like a fuse. Good thing it was 6P in the afternoon! Craziness. And the sh-t is made in China, so good luck getting a refund.

mini fridge

by Jessica Baez from union nj on 2010-06-21
this worked out perfect in my business to store cold drinks and cream to serve to my clients in a sleek modern look in addition to our coffee display. i love it except for the fact that im afraid to leave it on overnight. i unplug at the end of day and store the items in another fridge in the basement but the actual product has many wonderful uses

Time Limit

by Scott G. Pfitzinger from Indianapolis, IN USA on 2010-03-10
They don't make it very clear, but there IS a time limit on this mini fridge. It says in Amazon's listing that you can't run it for more than 10 hours or "damage may occur." It should be made more obvious in the packaging and labeling that you can only use it for short times. I think 10 hours is being generous, since performance seems to slow earlier than that. Works okay for very short times, but that's all.

good product

by lc from on 2010-09-02
i bought the mini fridge 4 wrk (2b used @ my desk)...& so far, so good (i've had it 4 about a year)! it's a lil loud...sounds like a small fan; but, my real concern is that i usually turn it off everyday, and i would like to leave it on @ all times (4 long term storage); however, i don't want to take that chance, since the instructions indicate that it needs to be turned off from time to time. overall, the product is good...it serves its purpose, & exceeded my expectations!

Disappointing

by E. L. Cerronilong from on 2009-03-04
I bought two of these products in the last year. They make a lot of noise but they are small, look good, and keep things quite cool. However, they cannot run continuously for more than four months. When the first one just stopped working I thought it was defective, and I bought another one. Now this one has died, too, and I realized that they are meant for occasional, short-period use only. Too bad!

Obnoxiously LOUD

by S. Nelson from Seattle on 2008-09-08
I bought the fridge to be used at work in my cubicle. The fridge is so loud that my cubicle neighbors complain. I put up with the sound for one day and then abandoned it. The fridge comes with a car adapter and regular ac outlet adapter. It is too loud to be used in a cubicle but it might be good on road trips when you can crank up the radio to hide the annoying fan. I was told that the sound would be comparable to a computer fan....totally not true. More like having a 5.0L Mustang in your cube
